Some might think that because I gravitate towards neutrals, it means I hate color. I absolutely love color, but am very selective with how it is used. Abusive color use just comes across as vulgar... I am tempted to say some people just have "too much taste," but as Karl Lagerfeld brilliantly pointed out, "there's taste and no taste."
The blog, The Perfect Palette, dissects color use fairly well. It's not always to my taste but for a vintage-quirky aesthetic, I think she's on it. Major kudos to her as well for developing this handy chart of Pantone's must-have hues for S/S 2012:
I'm looking forward to seeing Driftwood, Cabaret, Solar Power, and Tangerine Tango on the shopping racks this spring. Oranges, yellows and bright pinks look fantastic on me... whenever I want to turn heads and shine, yellow is my color!
