The mayor's office puts out a wind advisory in Chicago, it is no joke. We had 35-50 mph winds today and high/violent waves on the lake.
Unfortunately for me, I work about three blocks away from the lake. So I get the brunt of the Lake Effect on my walk into work. And it is brutal.
The wind was so strong, that I had to pull myself against a fence's bars. And while waiting for my pedestrian light, it took all my might to lean and not blow over. I'm pretty sure my handbag weighed me down and kept me from floating away like the Red Balloon.
Actually, I was wearing my full-length white Burberry down puffy coat... so I moreso would have looked like the Dough Boy from Ghostbusters.
