Please, oh please...

... Let me be Cinderella. Hopefully, I won't be doomed to one of the ugly step-sisters.

My friend Katherine bought a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes in too small a size. She tried stretching them at her local cobbler, but they are still too small for her. So, she made a bulletin: "Free Shoes to Cinderella"... and hopefully, they are my size!

Otherwise, back to her they will go... in search of their fairytale ending.

Clever Mink.

Rebecca Minkoff just launched her new lifestyle site, Minkette.

Style blogs, decor blogs, contests and bag give-aways. It comes right as she's promoting her new RTW line. I already saw one contributing columnist's rant on how annoying hipsters are (*unless you are one of those American Apparel wearing annoying hipsters. In which case, please click on the banner to your left and buy something. Do something useful and contribute to my shoe fund.) so I have high hopes for the editorial content.

The great denim dilemma:

Mr. Opinions told me that he doesn't like me in skinny jeans as much as he likes jeans worn over heels.

Here's the dilemma: do I buy skinny jeans anyways since they look best with flats (which I wear to work most days) or do I buy straight/bootcut jeans that look awesome but have to be worn with heels?

I hate how short I look in bootcut jeans that are hemmed for flats at my natural inseam (roughly, a 28-29"). But have you ever worked on concrete floors for eight hours in heels?

Which lends itself to the next dilemma: if I buy the jeans that Justin likes, do I splurge on the Marc by Marc Jacobs leather high-heeled booties I found on sale to wear with them?

Rocking the Burbs.

Wait for it... Wait for it...
Burberry Prorsum that is. I bought these on sale at the Burberry store at the Green Hills Mall in Nashville. I love them... they are classic without being boring. And they are insanely comfortable... these will not be my last Prorsum pair. The heel tips are a patented material that prevents that clacking sound you'll get from walking around in stilettos.

I bought them in a color called Trench, it's a beige-grey.

Okay, now we are officially in a recession.

So, I'm looking ahead a season for boots. In reality, I can probably only comfortably afford one good pair of boots this coming season so I need to be very selective in what I choose.

Right now, the boots I've found and have liked the best are a grey pair at Nine West for $300. Yeah, I'll repeat that for you: boots at Nine West for $300 hundy dollars. But in all honesty, they'll probably go on sale since I can't imagine that the regular Nine West customer is dropping $300 on any pair of Nine West shoes. Hell, the shoes for $69 go on sale.

But anyways, I checked out the sale at Barneys... OMG. They have so much selection left and the sale has been going on for a couple of weeks. Manolos, Mui Mui, Marc Jacobs, Lanvin, Louboutin... The amount of selection in my size is enough to give me a panic attack. I had to close out the site window immediately, lest I do something stupid and impulsive and order all of them. Normally, all of the big names at 50% off or more don't last very long... it was just this past November that women were getting into fist fights in the Saks' shoe departments during their 70% off sale.

I'm not an economist. But I do know that when women aren't buying fabulous shoes, things must be pretty bad out there.

I keep fallllllin', in and out...

I love this time of year. It's perfect outside and there's all the excitement of summer: parties, outdoor events, pub crawls, bar hopping, art fairs, free shows in the park... The Midwest is miserable 9 months out of the year, so we have to make our summers count. It's a completely different attitude than I experienced growing up in the South.

But the next season's clothes are hitting the racks too! And I love it. I live for it! And the Midwest experiences all seasons... that means, if I'm not fashionably dressed in layers I will die of heat or freeze.

Right now, I'm obsessed and looking for:

-great wedges for work
-sleek flat boots with hardware
-a very fitted black wool coat
-cashmere, cashmere, cashmere in simple, modern shapes
-AG-ed colored denim in greys, navy and browns
-simple tee shirt dresses with defined waists

I consider it a fashion statement as well as a safety precaution...

Nighttime drivers, cannot miss me! Not when I'm walking around in my Day-Glo/ safety cone neon orange Louis Vuitton for Stephen Sprouse graffiti speedy!

I absolutely love it. I'm not going to lie... I dreamed of owning the tonic green one, but all that was left in the company were floor models that were damaged. So far, I've had a week's worth of great outfits with the orange and so I am grateful I got the color I did.

And it DOES glow under black light. It's actually really fucking cool. I love this bag!

You don't write. You don't call.

The customer service at ToryBurch.com is completely slacking! I checked my email today and saw that one of my sandals (the bright pink) is ready to ship (money not charged to my Amex yet), but I got absolutely no follow up on the yellow-green pair. I don't care if you can't fill my order, but at least shoot an automated email stating that my order is cancelled.

I need to keep track of my packages this week!

Lucky, lucky me. Justin told me that a very, very special Louis Vuitton bag was ordered for me. I don't want to reveal too much, but he doesn't remember all the details of what's coming... but it required a charge send to be shipped to Chicago and then shipped to me (as a security precaution against credit card fraud). But I definitely won't see myself coming and going! Limited edition and all that.

I'm going to be stalking the mailroom in our building all week.

I can't resist Tory Burch shoes on sale!

I ordered these Caylan style sandals from the Tory Burch website in two colors, the citron (shown) and a hot, berry pink... (Though it sucks that both colors weren't available at the same time, because then I would have saved on shipping.)
I really couldn't decided between the two colors (can't try them on in real-life) so I decided to just order both and see which color I like better in person. I'm losing out on shipping, but I was able to use the discount code "torygilt" for 20% off.

I should be getting them in five business days, so within a week of my birthday. Happy Birthday to me!

I went for Chinese food, I came back with scarves.

I was craving Chinese food like crazy... but sadly, the only place for Chinese food we've previously tried is Hon's Wok and it was Dateline expose- disgusting. Yeah, that fucking disgusting.

So, I Google mapped the closest Pei Wei. I know, real authentic... but when all you're craving is soy sauce and you're looking to spend under $30 for two people, Pei Wei is fine. While we live within a reasonable driving distance to Ladue, we never head over that way... we live in the city afterall! So after dinner, I wanted to drive around the shopping center to see what else was there...

Danger! Danger! An Old Navy. I don't think I've been to an Old Navy within a year and a half... Old Navy is like a Target or Forever 21 to me, everything is so cheap that I lose track of what I'm spending. I found the most perfect little black tee shirt dress, but even though it was only $19.50... I just couldn't buy it because the quality of the cotton was so bad that the black was fading in spots and the fabric was already pilling.

I like cheap thrills as much as the next girl, but the snob in me won't let me wear such cheap fabric and poor construction. I did find two grey tanks that are great for layering under some organic dyed tees I have that have a tendency to transfer color... And I got two GREAT scarves for only $12.50 each! They are a great steal:

... I can't wait to rock my new hot pink plaid scarf with a plain white v-neck tee and my killer AG hot pink acid washed Stilt skinny jeans (color is desert rose, if you're willing to search for them on Google) and white Tory Burch flats tomorrow. I know it sounds dreadfully obnoxious, but trust me... I'm a stylist and I have an eye for these sorts of things. I also picked up a bright, solid yellow scarf to wear with my numerous grey tee shirts and boyfriend jeans.

As for the dress, I've been searching for mad for the dress it is a knock-off of. I found a James Pearse dress that is close but not close enough... the search shall continue!
