Sometimes, impulsiveness pays off.

Lucky, lucky me... Maryjane's down the street on Euclid Ave. over by McPherson is having a major shoe sale. I repeat, major shoe sale: 75% off. I was able to get a deep red wingtipped pair of cut-out shooties for $34, originally $140ish. At first, I was hesitant because they fastened with a leather ties that were stiff and just stuck out....

... but then it dawned on me that I could take a deep wine colored ribbon and use ribbon for a completely different look. It was scary cutting out the original leather laces, but I love the more feminine look that ribbon gives the shoe. For once, rash decision making paid off... big time.

I wore the shoes out earlier to Terrene for dinner with Justin and his parents. I'm hoping that maybe I can break them in... they would look great for work paired with skinny jeans!
