I'm thinking about purchasing either Adriano Goldschmied's black shimmer cords (pictured above) or the velvet straight leg pants with the logo in black Swavorski crystals. I think purchasing both would be a pretty big leap, given that I have effectively avoided black pants (minus my black skinny trousers with military detailing, hottt!) since about 7th grade.
Black pants are associated with two of the biggest crimes against fashion: the bright blue school band polo worn with black dress pants for concerts and the super tight black "ponte" flared pants Express used to sell that everyone wore with awful, colorful tank tops and camisoles for going out.
Either choice will undoubtedly be worn with black patent leather shoes.
